What If the World Was One?

Dramatic change does not occur except through extraordinary pain. If you look at history, you will see events unfold in this pattern. We are adaptive creatures. We are not very proactive. Just look at climate change. We haven't suffered enough pain to want to adapt. I'd like to make a prediction. There will be a WW3. The cost of that war will be so horrific that the world will pay any price to avoid a repeat of that event. I don't want there to be a WW3, but all indications seem to be pointing us in that direction.  The elites of each nation take us to war. Mostly it is the lower and middle class who pay the greatest price in the name of nationalism. We need to understand that the more elites of each nation fear each other, the closer we are to war. The elites don't necessarily want a war unless they known they will win. And that is impossible to know right now. What we do know is that fear breeds irrational behaviour quite often.  If we are to suffer the pain of a 3rd ...

Who Are We Really?

I will come straight out with it! We are a promising experiment of Mother Nature. As a species, we are egotistical and self-obsessed. For instance, in all our religions we place ourselves just under God. Every other living organism on planet Earth barely rates a mention. But just try living without them. They all deserve our respect but until recently, have received very little.  As a species, our calling is to evolve! We as a species are brand new. We have only been living a civilized life for 10,000 years. And in that short time, we have learned how to create artificial intelligence, explore other planets, and blow ourselves up. How amazing is that! But Mother Nature has not kept up. We still have the mind and body designed for a life of scarcity. We are still quite primeval. I'll give you an example. My life would be better if I woke up early each morning and exercised for an hour. Do I do it? No! Why? Because my mind and body were designed differently. I was designed to conserv...

Chapter 16 : Reducing the Polarization of Our Society.

If you don't get taxes and transfer payments right in a country, it could eventually lead to the polarization of society. If you don't fix the public education system and mass media, this can lead to a society open to manipulation, leading to polarization. A polarized society is one that, by definition, is ripping itself apart. It's not so bad here in Australia. We have a true democracy (kind of), so a person who grew up in a housing commission home can become Prime Minister of Australia. I think that matters. That's not as much the case in republics like the USA.  But then, if you listen to Gary Stevenson, who is a British economist, that doesn't matter. According to him, because of compounding wealth, the rich will gain more and more of the available productive assets in the economy at a faster and faster rate. He says asset price inflation of everything worth investing in is showing us this in real time. The rich can outbid normal people on more and more assets, ...

Toxic Personalities

Donald Trump is now the 47th President of the United States of America. He and his other siblings are the product of a toxic upbringing. As far as I can tell, his father was a highly dominant figure within the family. Donald's father was successful and aggressive commercially. Because his father was successful commercially, whatever happened within the immediate Trump family environment was forgiven or at least ignored. The rationale being that if Mr Trump Sr. is capable of making good decisions in the business world, then he is capable of making the most important decisions of all regarding his immediate family. Or at least we hope so. Well, Fred Jnr died prematurely because of alcoholism. If he had a different father, would that have happened? How much of that was due to an abusive father? Donald mastered the art of not only pleasing an abusive father but also modeling him to some extent. Donald condemns his older brother for being weak. In the survival game of life, Donald saw h...
