The United States of Europe

The EU is only about 40 years old. What did the USA look like when it was only 40 years old? It definitely wasn't a massive player in world politics. But circumstances in Europe have accelerated the process. For instance, I would be very surprised if Europe doesn't create one European army to protect the EU. Under Donald Trump the NATO agreement means nothing. Everyone in Europe knows that when Russia eats up Ukraine, it will keep going as long as Putin or some Putin-like leader exists in Russia. And Russia is so vast and it's various geographical parts differ so greatly both economically and culturally. They need a genius leader or an authoritarian leader in order to stay together. Someone who believes in the glory of Russia will pop up after Putin dies. Just watch.

The Europeans have no choice. They have to create a unified force powerful enough to replace the USA. Under Donald Trump, they just won't have that protection anymore. By the time this process is finished every European country will willingly give up part of their sovereignty to guarantee peace for their country. It's a fair exchange. The best thing that ever happened to the development of the EU is Putin and Donald Trump. 

My bet is that Britain will have another referendum about rejoining the EU or seeing Britain separate into separate states. And those separate states will be free to join the EU. On this occasion, the King will break from tradition and advocate for rejoining the EU. To see Britain break apart within his reign would be unbearable. Also, the King will know that leaving the EU was a mistake in the first place. Nigel Farage is a classic "Worm Tongue". He was probably given all his talking points an finance by the Russians. 

The EU will evolve its online communication tactics to counteract Russian propaganda. They will create their own information website which clearly indicates what democratic practices institutions and behaviors they expect of their member states. They may even have "doomsday clocks" on their website indicating how close each country is to not fulfilling these expectations. Massive advertising will drive Europeans to this site. It will explain why these benchmarks are set and how each European will benefit from achieving these democratic benchmarks. 

Conversely, the benefits of getting cheap gas from dictators will be nullified by the loss of European infrastructure grants and other EU benefits. Eroding democratic structures will also lose other European grants. All these issues will be clearly quantified on the EU website for the affected country's citizens. So much so that each citizen of the affected country will know the individual cost per citizen of watering down democratic systems of Government.  So if Hungry tries to block that website from reaching its citizens, they lose EU benefits. If they promote anti-EU propaganda, the EU conducts a survey on its website asking Hungarian citizens if they want to leave the EU. The results of that survey are published on the website. If it contradicts what the politicians of Hungary are doing, then questions will be asked on the website. If Victor Orban allows his friends to own all the media outlets in Hungary, less EU money is coming Hungary's way. 

Even though Hungry is institutionally moving away from democracy, its people still know the truth. If Hungarians believe they are not singled out for special treatment because the terms and conditions in the EU website apply to all members equally, they will come around. If I was a citizen of an EU country and I saw my country on that website failing to reach democratic benchmarks, I'd be pissed off if my country ranked as one of the least democratic. And when you clicked on the doomsday clock for my country, it gave the reasons why the ranking was low. And when you clicked on the reason why, all the documented evidence was revealed. 

Europe now sees USA not just as unreliable as a security partner but even as a future adversary under Donald Trump. The tactics used by Russia and other malicious states outside of the "Global Order" to cause the USA to rip itself apart have, in my opinion, only just started. In four years, if Donald Trump fails to have free and fair elections, if he tries to set the military against it's own citizens, then I can see "Blue" states attempting to secede from the Union or worse, a civil war breaking out in the USA. 

In my opinion, this is the ultimate goal of countries like Russia. They want to destroy the USA because the USA enforces rules, rules that they don't like. Russia has found a way to get democracy to attack itself and weakened itself. It magnifies differences of opinion way beyond their logical limit. It distorts publicily dicussed information. Democracies need this information to be reasonably accurate in order to make good decisions. 

Countries will need to pass laws regarding all and any internet communication clearly stating what is fact and what is opinion. If someone claims that something is a fact, then they need to state a verifiable source.  If they deviate in any way, they must receive a fine or go to gaol. 

I can see other countries following German's lead in refusing to join in a coalition with far right parties. These parties are just Trojan Horse weapons for the Russians and other malicious players. 

If all this chaos ends up in a third world war, where potentially billions could die, I can see enablers like the conservative side of the Supreme Court of USA, like cowardly Republicans and like conspiracy theory online "influencers" being blamed for helping to push the world into chaos. I think Mitch McConnell could have stopped all this if he just backed a move to Impeach Donald Trump when the opportunity arose. Why he didn't we may never know. And I think Mitch will take that answer to his grave because he is too ashamed to explain himself. Because now he knows there is no excuse for what he did. So why even try.

If you look at all those massive demonstrations in Serbia, Hungary and Romania you get the impression that the citizens of those countries know they are being attacked by Russia through covert means. They know this and have chosen to fight back by coming out in the streets on mass. They hear how Trump is dismantling America from within. They know that every 90 minute phone call between Trump and Putin is bad news for the free world. They don't want the same thing for their country.

Defending Australia

The World is fast losing its predictable order. Trump seems to be doing incredible damage to a reasonably successful Pax Americana structure almost daily. The Australian Government has attached itself to America as a way of defending our vast shores.  We were right to do so. As Kim Beazley once said, in history, there has never been an underpopulated country which is resource-rich and has not been invaded. We have always needed a powerful friend and patron. AUKUS is the latest incarnation of this policy. But with Trump in the White House, is it just one big terribly expensive mistake? Quite likely. Who Are We Really?

I will come straight out with it! We are a promising experiment of Mother Nature. As a species, we are egotistical and self-obsessed. For instance, in all our religions we place ourselves just under God. Every other living organism on planet Earth barely rates a mention. But just try living without them. They all deserve our respect but until recently, have received very little.  As a species, our calling is to evolve! We as a species are brand new.
