Drugs

The illicit drug trade is massive. As in the days of prohibition it is a breeding ground for organized crime. Yet who is the victim of the crime? One might say the end user is the victim. So how can they be a victim and a criminal at the same time? It doesn't make sense.

I would legalise all drugs! Yes.... it's shameful isnt it! You can use anything you like! You can hurt yourself if you want. But before you do, you need to prove that you are sane, and in control of your life. If you can do that, then we will legally allow you to buy any and all drugs.

The catch is, you need to tell us why you want the drugs, and how taking the drugs affects your life. If the Government wants to promote an anti drug message to the public, you may be asked to participate. But you will not be treated as a criminal.

Corporations which sell tobacco will be allowed to sell the drugs commercially. They will be allowed to make a profit from this trade legally. The product will be taxed to such an extent that the medical expense of allowing the drugs into the open market can be reimbursed. Also the cost of a comprehensive anti drug marketing campaign should also be recouped from these taxes.

I remember the anti tobacco campaign in Australia being very successful until the tobacco companies destroyed all the progress with vaping. The health authorities need to regroup and go again. But this time include all harmful drugs.
